Our hugely popular Akemi Blanco Rioja has a new name, Ontañón Kaori (k-or-ee). The name Kaori is rooted in Japanese language and conveys the importance of aroma and scent. The rebrand is part of a portfolio refresh from Bodegas Ontañón who introduced Kaori to its export markets this month with a guarantee that the old-vine Viura we know and love is exactly the same...and the new 2022 vintage is tasting better than ever!
The Ontañón Kaori Rioja Blanco 2022 displays ripe tropical fruit aromas with citric floral notes. It has a voluptuous mouth-feel, reminiscent of tropical fruit, grapefruit and a touch of white pepper. It is well balanced, with a fine line of natural acidity and a round, full bodied mouthfeel.
