Premium Reds
£85.99
From southern Italy, the Rhone Valley and Mendoza, we're delighted to offer this fabulous mixed case of premium reds. Each case includes two bottles of the following wines...
Vina Cobos Felino Malbec
Since its first vintage in 1999, Vina Cobos has pushed the boundaries of winemaking in two of the premier growing regions of Mendoza: Luján de Cuyo and Valle de Uco. Paul Hobbs and his team at Vina Cobos had the vision and inspiration to create ‘wines which express the true essence of their terroir with finesse, complexity, and authenticity.’ Minimal intervention in the winery allows their wines to express the true nature of the vines and soils. The Felino Malbec is packed full of fresh black fruits and prunes on the nose, with good concentration and balance on the palate.
Boutinot ‘Les Coteaux Schisteux’, Séguret Côtes du Rhône Villages
Séguret is one of 22 villages in the southern Rhône which is allowed to append its name to the Côtes du Rhône Villages appellation. Wines from these villages have been identified as higher quality wines which are more expressive of the region.
This is an impressive, classic Séguret - about as good as Côtes du Rhône Villages gets! Explosive, plush and opulent, and layered with suggestions of exotic spices, cracked black pepper and vanilla. The tannins are ripe and the finish is long.
Torri d'Oro Primitivo di Manduria
From the sun drenched vineyards in southern Italy, Primitivo (also known as Zinfandel), thrives in the warm, Mediterranean climate. The grapes ripen alongside cooling sea breezes, bringing balance and complexity.
On the nose, the Torri d'Oro has a complex bouquet of spices and ripe fruits scents. The palate is fruit forward and full bodied with good structure and a soft sweetness. The tannins are gentle and the finish is long.
