New wines from the Danube...

New wines from the Danube...

Published at Oct 22, 2021
Possibly more famous for The Blue Danube Waltz than wine, but this historic region shouldn’t be overlooked. In fact, the Bulgarian wine market is hugely dynamic and a rise of smaller independent producers is transforming the wine scene.

We’ve just taken on two cracking little wines from Burgozone, whose vineyards lie on the right bank of the Danube in the Côte du Danube.

The Viognier is gently floral with peach and white flower notes. The palate is juicy and refreshing and would be a great match with a spicy fish dish - retail price, £10.99

The Pinot Noir is soft and fruity, with gentle tannins and a hint of vanilla on the finish. It’s easy going and fresh and would make a great choice for pasta or pizza - retail price, £10.99
